PRAYER FOR HUMILITY
When comes the time that I seek for praise,
remind me, O Lord, that all praise is Yours alone.
When my ears are seeking of applause and adulation,
make me hear the sound of Your creation
giving praise to You alone.
When I expect some recognition for a good I have done,
make me realize that doing Your Will is truly enough.
When I desire to be acknowledged
for using the gifts that You have given
help me remember that You're the one
who really made it happen.
Purify my heart, O Lord, from all selfishness and pride.
Spare my mind from the desire to be always in control.
Bring me back instead, to the manger all forlorn
where you the King and Lord of all,
chose to silently be born.
Amen.
PRAYER FOR ATTENTIVENESS
My God, I know you listen
to my every summon,
my every plea, my every utterance
of Your Holy Name.
Help me not to forget that You are there,
every moment of every day,
in my coming and going,
in my sleeping and in my rising.
Help me not to ignore You
in the circumstances that come my way,
but instead respond always,
preoccupied to do Your Will,
to serve Your purpose,
and answer Your call.
All praise and glory to You,
O Lord, my One True God.
